    Experiences with Wayne

What are people saying about Wayne?

"Hawkins, Inc. once owned trailers and employed drivers for our bulk deliveries.   After the horrific 1984 Bhopal India chemical accident, insurance rates for chemical transporters went through the roof and we looked for an outside carrier, who had a large fleet, to offset these insurance costs.  Hawkins settled on Wayne Transports to take over our bulk shipments.

Over the last 26 years, Hawkins has grown to over 12,000 inbound and outbound bulk loads in 2009 via Wayne.  If we were to still own our own fleet, transportation would be a daunting challenge.   Having enough equipment, coordinating scheduling and managing a large pool of drivers would consume many of our resources.   Wayne Transports has executed these activities for Hawkins very well.

On-time deliveries are critical in keeping our customer’s plants running.  Mondays and Fridays are our heaviest shipment days.  With Wayne having many other customers, they are able to keep people and equipment busy every day of the week.

Like in most business activities, things don’t always go as planned.  Wayne has worked hard to remedy our transportation issues when they arise - to our and our customer’s satisfaction.  The partnership that Hawkins has with Wayne remains strong.  Wayne has committed to grow with us and now has drivers and equipment in Centralia, IL to support our new facility there.

With the new hours of service laws in effect, new driver point system in place and anticipated national driver shortages; it is important for any company that relies heavily on transportation to make sure all of their bases are covered.  Hawkins feels that Wayne is up to the task of delivering our goods today and into the future.

We appreciate all that Wayne does for us.  We might not be where we are today without them."

"I have had the opportunity to work with Wayne Transports (the majority of my interaction is with Dan Anderson - MidWest Terminal Manager) since July 2006.  Wayne Trans. supports nearly all of the bulk truck loads shipping to my largest customer and the service has always been top notch.  I can always count on Dan and his team to pull through on anything my customer needs.  I can not speak highly enough about Wayne Transports' level of professionalism and dedication to providing excellent service, and only hope I will have the privilege of working with them for many years to come."

"Good morning. In today’s society unfortunately it seems people are quick to complain and slow to share a compliment. Well today I witnessed an act of kindness from one of your drivers that I wanted to pass along to you. I was at the Holiday Station at the intersection of Highway 52 and West 7th street in St. Paul (by Savoy’s pizza). The customer in front of me was purchasing a few small items and was short on cash. Your driver quickly and willingly pulled out his own wallet to offer this lady $1 to cover her shortfall.  Although $1 isn’t a lot of money, it was the generosity that he provided without hesitation that impressed me. I should have, but did not say anything to him at the time. However, I did notice his cab number of #696 as he was leaving the station. So hopefully you can identify the driver by that truck number.

I wanted to pass this information along to you as one of the owners of the company to acknowledge an employee for a random act of kindness. It did not go unnoticed!!

Have a good day and thanks for your time!"
